Motala is the make Reed Lifts works on most. The MC2000 in particular turns up across the sites we look after, and it is the lift we have stripped, rebuilt and returned to service more times than any other.
That matters because the MC2000 has a handful of failure points that come round again and again: overspeed governors, gearboxes, magnetic switch brackets and relay faults. Knowing them before we arrive is the difference between a diagnosis in half an hour and a lift out of service for a fortnight while somebody guesses.
We are independent, not a Motala service agent. That means we are not tied to one supply chain, and we will source the right part from wherever it is quickest and cheapest rather than whoever we are contracted to.

The lift trips out and won't reset
Often a safety circuit doing its job. Something has told the lift to stop. It needs an engineer to find out what, not repeated resetting.
Knocking or scraping from inside the shaft
We have traced this to a damaged magnetic switch bracket with the switches sitting out of position. Take the lift out of use and get it looked at.
The lift moves but sounds laboured or uneven
Commonly the gearbox. Left alone it gets more expensive, not less. Worth a diagnostic visit early.
The lift has been marked out of service by another engineer
Usually a governor or safety gear item. We carry Motala safety gear solutions to site and have turned these round inside a working day.

Yes. It is one of the jobs we do most often on this model. We have completed full OSG replacements, including delivery of the Motala safety gear solution to site, inside a single working day.
Usually. Plenty of parts written off as obsolete are still available through specialist suppliers or the second-hand trade. Send us the model and serial number and we will look before anyone recommends replacing the whole lift.
