Wessex step lifts and homelifts are a regular part of Reed Lifts' work. On a recent multi-site day we repaired a Wessex step lift and returned it to service, surveyed the same site for a fully enclosed platform lift replacement, and put two Wessex homelifts back into service from van stock.
That last detail is the point: carrying the right parts means a Wessex homelift can often be fixed on the first visit rather than booked in twice.
Wessex is one of the manufacturers listed on Harry's certification record. We are independent and work on Wessex equipment whoever installed it.

A step lift has stopped mid-travel
Leave it. Do not attempt manual lowering without training. Ring an engineer and say whether anyone is on the platform.
A homelift is slower than it used to be
Worth a service visit. Gradual change is usually wear, and wear caught early is cheap.
The lift beeps or shows a code and stops
Note the code before you clear it. It is the single most useful thing you can give an engineer over the phone.

We carry common consumables and wear parts, which is why some Wessex homelifts go back into service on the first visit. Larger components are ordered in.
Yes. A large part of our servicing work is in care environments and housing where the lift is somebody's only access between floors.
