New lifts & upgrades

A NEW LIFT,
FITTED BY THE PERSON
WHO SURVEYED IT

Platform lifts, stairlifts, through-floor lifts and home lifts, plus door and control upgrades to existing units. Free survey, an honest answer on whether it will fit, and a fixed price before anything starts.

IS THIS YOU?

A relative is struggling with the stairs

Usually a stairlift, sometimes a through-floor lift. Which one depends on the staircase, the space upstairs and how the person actually moves, not on what is easiest to sell.

You need wheelchair access between floors

That is platform lift territory, our specialism. We survey the space, the structure and the power supply before quoting anything.

You're planning ahead, not reacting

The best installs are the ones designed in before they are needed. Happy to look at a property and tell you what is possible with no obligation.

An existing lift needs bringing up to standard

Manual doors converted to power operators, controls upgraded, DDA compliance sorted. Often far cheaper than replacing a sound lift.

WHAT'S COVERED

Through-floor and home lift installation
Platform lift installation, homes and commercial premises
Free site survey and fixed-price quotation
Manual to automatic door operator conversion

How long does it take?

A straight stairlift is usually fitted and tested in two to three hours on the day. A curved stairlift takes longer because the rail is made to your staircase, so expect two to three weeks from survey to install, with the install itself taking half a day to a day. Platform lifts and through-floor lifts depend on the structural work and the manufacturer's lead time, and we will give you real dates rather than optimistic ones.

What does a lift cost?

Typical fitted ranges are in the table below, and they are honest ones. What moves the number for your property is the structure, how many floors, the make, the doors and finishes, and whether the power supply needs upgrading. The survey is free, you get a fixed price before anything starts, and where a good reconditioned unit would do the same job for less we will tell you that too.

WHAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY PAY

Every job is different, and the survey is free, but you should not have to ring a trade number just to find out whether this is a £2,000 conversation or a £40,000 one. These are fitted prices for the most common UK installs, taken from Harry's own price guide.
